Hi! My name is Brooke Grazda. I am a San Diego native currently based in San Francisco, California. I’m an environmental data scientist passionate about leveraging programming tools and data visualization to promote open source science.
I am currently working as a Technology Analyst on the Data Services Team for the San Francisco Estuary Institute. I work primarily with water quality data and help maintain the SFEI Regional Data Center.
In June 2025 I graduated from the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management with a Masters of Environmental Data Science. Before that, I graduated from UC Santa Barbara (UCSB) with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and a minor in Applied Psychology. My education gives me a unique combination of technical and soft skills.
I specialize in public speaking, science communication, and environmental problem solving using R and Python. When I am away from my computer, I enjoy staying active, spending time with pets, and watching competitive reality TV (ask me about Survivor).
